Some things that can be different in a Spanish house , compared with one in the UK
Houses do have some differences here , here are a few things I can think of
, gas not many houses have piped gas so it is common to use gas bottles fr things like water heating , cooking , heaters etc.
, water , don't take it for granted , some country houses have water tanks or wells , some only have irrigation water so it is important to check
, made up road, dirt track roads are quite common in the country , some can be in quite bad condition ,
, windows , aluminium single glazed sliding windows are common , they normally have roller blinds and mozzi nets , older places have inward opening wooden windows with shutters
, window and door bars are common here for extra security
, tiled floors are common , not much use of fitted carpets
little use of timber and plaster board in construction , floors are normally solid or beam and block , also no timber in roof construction
electrical sockets are 2 pin eu style , electrics use single insulated cables in flexible conduit , not twin and earth
central heating is not common , gas heaters and wood burning is a common form of heating
air conditioning is quite common
electric is not always available in the countryside some people use solar or generators
landline is not always available in the countryside , mobile or wimax can sometimes provide an alternative
